The Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 introduces several engaging side gigs across Dogtown that test player judgment. One notable mission, Prototype in the Scraper, tasks players with retrieving a stolen corporate prototype for the fixer Mr. Hands. What seems like a routine recovery operation quickly evolves into a moral dilemma involving a desperate engineer named Hasan Demir.
Navigating the Scraper and Locating the Prototype
Players begin the quest by traveling to a hazardous Scavenger den located within a massive unfinished skyscraper in the Longshore Stacks. Sneaking or fighting through the guards eventually leads to a holding cell where Hasan is trapped. The prototype implant is actually installed directly into Hasan's eye, turning a recovery job into an extraction scenario.
To free Hasan from his cell, players must search a nearby computer terminal on the upper floor to retrieve the security code. The passcode required to open the cell door is 2753. Once released, Hasan guides players to a nearby room where they can secure the physical schematics needed for the contract.
Deciding Hasan's Fate with Mr. Hands
After escaping the building across a lowered drawbridge, players face a critical decision regarding how to handle Hasan. The safest ethical path involves calling Mr. Hands to discuss options rather than letting Hasan wander off alone. Players can request that Mr. Hands safely extract the tech while sparing Hasan's life.
If players convince Mr. Hands to spare Hasan, the engineer is freed without severe corporate retaliation. A few days later, Hasan reaches out to thank players and provides a new quest that grants the unique Ambition Iconic Tech Pistol. Choosing this route yields the most rewarding narrative outcome for players exploring Dogtown.
Alternative Outcomes and Consequences
Alternatively, players can choose to deliver Hasan directly back to Zetatech by sending his location to the fixer. Doing so satisfies the corporate client completely, but leaves Hasan at the mercy of harsh corporate punishment. This choice completes the gig without granting access to Hasan's follow-up reward.
If players simply let Hasan walk away without contacting Mr. Hands, he attempts to sell the implant independently to a shady ripperdoc. This choice leads to a tragic result where Hasan gets scammed and loses his eye without any real benefit to the player. Engaging thoughtfully with the available choices ensures the best outcome for both the story and character gear.
